The Organ
By the 1990s, the Allen electrical organ which had served the church for years was requiring more and more repair to keep it going. In 1993 a proposal was made that the Allen organ be replaced with the purchase and installation of a new pipe organ, and a campaign was initiated to raise the needed funds. We contracted with Russell Organ Company of Cambridgeport, Vermont, and the organ was constructed during 1994 and 1995, and installed in 1995.
The Russell and Company pipe organ has 49 speaking stops on two manuals and pedal. It is free-standing and speaks directly into the room. Pipes of flamed copper and polished zinc form the façade. The casework and console is mahogany with a hand-rubbed stain and oil finish. ...read more
