Family Promise

"Home isn't where our house is, but wherever we are understood." -Christian Morgenstern

Family Promise is a network of local churches that volunteer the use of their space and their members’ time to provide shelter and meals for families who find themselves without a home. Paid Family Promise staff help families find permanent housing and employment while their families’ immediate needs are met in a safe place.

Volunteers from the Plattsburgh United Methodist Church provide dinner, and are present and involved with families during their stay at the church from dinner through the evening. Volunteers also sleep overnight while guests are in the church. Interested volunteers should contact the church office.
